GLOVERSVILLE, NY — According to city police local man Stephen M. Politsch, 24 years old, of Bloomingdale Ave is being charged with more than six incidents of domestic violence within two days of each other.
Charges include second degree harassment, petit larceny, criminal mischief, third degree assault, second degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth degree criminal mischief, second degree coercion, third degree menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation all of this on May 22, 2017.
Two days earlier police officers were sent to 21 Carpenter St on May 20th on a report of a domestic violence incident.
Police learned during the investigation that Politsch kept the victim from leaving his residence by physically assaulting the victim by pushing, choking and biting. He also verbally threatened to kill her if she tried to leave. It was during this time that Politsch caused damage to the victim’s ignition key, further keeping her from leaving.
Can you believe that later that same day the police were again summoned to 21 Carpenter St. for another report of domestic violence?
It was learned during this investigation that Politsch again verbally threatened to kill the victim, caused damage to the interior of the victim’s residence, stole a cigarette machine, cigarette tubes and loose tobacco before then fleeing the scene.
Politsch was processed and arraigned in Gloversville City Court by Judge Traci DiMezza. He was sent to Fulton County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $12,500 bond.
On May 16th, 2017 Politsch’s address was the scene of a violent incident where three men were stabbed. All three men were charged with first degree burglary, armed with a dangerous weapon. City police stated the three men as having an issue with another tenant when he found out they broke into his home. Police say the resident fought back, resulting in all three receiving lacerations.
